The new wickless CE5 plus clearomizer.  This clearomizer uses an internal mesh instead of the long wick style clearomizers.  I just ordered two of these with six replaceable posts (atomizers).  It uses four holes punched into the post to deliver the juice.

How Mini-Vaporizers Work

If you own a mini-vaporizer, it probably works just like the rest of them.  The ego style systems are no exception to this method.  Though, recent innovations in the market may have come up with different, but not necessarily better, designs that will be an exception to this rule.  While this may be the case for the newest (and most expensive) handheld vaporizers, most comsumer vapes will work the same way.

As I have previously explained, an atomizer is a device that changes a solid or liquid into a very fine vapor/gas.  In mini-vaporizers, the atomizer is a simple coil of wire.  This coil is usually wrapped around some type of silica wick or mesh.  This wick soaks up the liquid and transports it to the heating coil.  When the coil is heated it vaporizes the liquid.

The atomizer is contained in a cartomizer or clearomizer.  Cartomizers and clearomizers are very similar.  The main difference between the two is cartomizers normally use a sponge type material to retain the liquid, while clearomizers do not use this filler material.  Clearomizers are also usually clear, hence the name clearo mizer.

This diagram helps comprehend the basic design of a cartomizer.

This clearomizer is a top coil cartomizer and uses the long wicks to move the juice to the coil. It also has a replaceable atomizer, which is highly suggested. I know the picture says "rebuildable" but, it is deceiving.  You can buy replacement atomizers at a very low cost, normally only $1.99.

How Vapes Help

After deciding that I was going to switch to a vaporizer, I tried doing some research online.  During my research I discovered that there was not a plethora or information.  I spent days online researching. Finally i decided on a kit and just ordered a juice that i think i will like.

My first kit contained two CE4 plus (Stardust/Vision style) clearomizers and two 650 mAh batteries.  Right of the bat I fell in love, the vaping craze swept me up like it has done to many others.  I get the sensation of smoking without many of the dangerous toxins, mainly the tar, carcinogens, carbon monoxide and others.

It has been six months since I've stopped smoking and it feels great.  In that six months I have learned massive amounts of information about vaporizers and their related gadgets.

For any beginner, I would recommend a kit just like I purchased.  Make sure you have at least two batteries because you do not want to get stuck waiting two hours for it to recharge.  When you have two that is not a problem.  Also, make sure you buy at least two clearomizers/cartomizers.  Most of them will only last about 4-6 weeks, so preferably you will want to buy a clearomizer that has replaceable innards.

Most of the new products have rebuildable wicks, mesh, and wire.  Though, for a beginner I would not recommend a rebuildable clearomizer.  Rebuilding these devices can be very tedious and difficult for a newcomer.  I would advise that you go for a product with replaceable innards, not rebuildable.

The CE4 plus and the CE5 plus are great for any starter.  The "plus" after the CE# means that it has replaceable parts.  Both of these clearomizers can be found for $4-$5 with the replaceable parts costing only $2 with most online vendors.

From personal experience, the Kanger T3 and the Innokin iClear dual coil clearomizers are also great choices and have replaceable parts.

Atomizers, Clearomizers, and Cartomizers

Atomization is the process in which a solid or liquid is separated into very fine particles, so fine that in some circumstances it reduces the solid or liquid into divided atoms.

Every clearomizer and cartomizer on the market contains an atomizer.  The atomizer, or the process of atomization, is the main component to any vaping system.

There are two types of atomization, electro thermal atomization and flame atomization.  Electrothermal atomization is much more efficient, although, it is also much more expensive.

Vaporizers, the beginning

In order to understand a vaporizer, you must first comprehend what vapor is.
Vapor is the gaseous form of substances that are usually liquids or solids. The process by which a substance becomes a vapor is called vaporization...

The first handheld vaporizer was invented by a Chinese company called Ruyan in 2003 and first introduced to the U.S. market in 2007.

Many vaporizing products have helped countless individuals improve their health and overall, lives.  Currently vapes aren't subject to U.S. tobacco laws because they don't contain tobacco.  Although, there is definite controversy up against vaporizers from regulatory agencies and health experts.  And both sides make constructive arguements.

Still, at the moment, vaporizing products are free from U.S. government regulation.
